NATURAL BRAZIL  ( 11 DAYS / 10 NIGHTS )

DAY 1    RIO DE JANEIRO

Arrival in Rio and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon our guide will pick you up for a visit to the famous Sugar Loaf Mountain. Starting at the hotel, we will drive along Rio's most famous beaches, such as Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon, until we reach "Praia Vermelha" or Red Beach, in the Urca district. There, we will take the cable car, which will take us to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. It will take us three minutes to reach the first stage, the Urca Mountain, where we will make a short stop to admire the gardens and take some pictures. Then we will continue to the peak of Sugar Loaf from where we can enjoy a breathtaking view of the bay and the city. Balance of the day at leisure. Overnight at the beachfront Miramar Hotel or similar.

DAY 2  RIO DE JANEIRO

Today we will introduce you to the natural beauty of Rio’s surroundings. Driving along the shoreline we will arrive in the fishing village of Itacurussa. Once there we will embark on a schooner for a full-day cruise in the waters of Sepetiba Bay. There will be time to swim and sunbathe, we will stop at an uninhabited island, and we will enjoy a delicious seafood lunch. On our way back we will sail by the more than 300 beautiful islands that dot the bay. Evening at leisure. Overnight. (B, L)

DAY 3  RIO DE JANEIRO

Day at leisure in Rio to enjoy the world-renowned beaches or take some optional tours (at additional cost). We recommend the visit to Corcovado Mountain where the statue of Christ the Redeemer is located, an excursion to the nearby colonial city of Petropolis, or a Rio by night tour showcasing typical Brazilian barbecue and a Samba show. Overnight. (B)

DAY 4  RIO DE JANEIRO – PANTANAL

Morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Campo Grande. Upon arrival you will be met by a representative and transferred to Pantanal, a three-hour drive. Afternoon and evening activities. Overnight. (B, L, D)

DAY 5  PANTANAL

The Caiman Ecological Refuge is located 147 miles west of Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul State Capital. The Refuge is comprised of one main lodge and three additional lodges in strategic points of a 53.000-hectare ranch. The main building, Caiman Lodge, is a Spanish-building featuring 11 apartments with private baths and air conditioning, a pool, a restaurant with offers home made meals and living room with TV and video. The outing schedule is prepared daily by the staff and varies according to the season and weather conditions. Generally there are two outings a day plus a third activity at nighttime. Activities include horse rides, the best way to get into the heart of the Pantanal, rides on specially adapted vehicles to distant places where wildlife is both profuse and varied, motor boat trips in the Aquidauana River, row boat rides in the lakes close to Caiman and Baiazinha, and trekking around the lodge for observation of animals and vegetation. DAY 6  PANTANAL - IGUASSU
Transfer to the airport in time for your flight to Iguassu. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the hotel Tropical Cataratas located next to the famous falls. In the afternoon you will enjoy a guided walking tour of the famous falls. The Brazilian side offers the best views of this unique spectacle from different vantage points. Free evening. Overnight. DAY 7  IGUASSU FALLS
Travel to Puerto Iguassu to enjoy a tour of the falls from the Argentinean side. During this comprehensive tour you will get to appreciate the falls from different points: First we head for the lower path where we experience the closest contact with the falls. Then we board small motorboats and cross the river up to San Martin Islands. Finally we will walk through the upper path that stretches along the highest part of the falls until we reach the belvedere at the famous Devil's Throat. We will also visit the Interpretation Center and the National Park Museum. Return to Tropical Cataratas for overnight accommodations. (B)
DAY 8  IGUASSU FALLS – MANAUS
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Manaus. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the posh Tropical Cataratas situated on the banks of the river. Balance of the day at leisure. Overnight. (B)
DAY 9  MANAUS - AMAZON JUNGLE
Pick up at the hotel at 2:00 pm and departure by boat sailing through the Meeting of the Waters. The Amazon Village is located 19 miles from Manaus, on the banks of Puraquequeara Lake, in the upper reaches of the Puraquequara River. It features 32 rooms equipped with mosquito screens, two single beds, private bathroom with shower, and verandah with a hammock, offering an authentic jungle experience. After dinner at the lodge we will depart for an alligator-spotting excursion. Overnight. (B, L, D)
DAY 10  AMAZON JUNGLE
Breakfast followed by a guided jungle trek and the opportunity of spotting wildlife. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon we will enjoy a reconnaissance tour. Free time. (B, L, D)
DAY 11  AMAZON JUNGLE - MANAUS
Early breakfast and departure back to Manaus. Arrival in Manaus at approximately 11:30 am and transfer to the airport in time for your return flight. (B)
