DAY 4 AMBERGRIS CAYE - MOUNTAIN PINE RIDGE - CAYO DISTRICT |
| Three hundred square
miles of nature at its best: the Hidden Valley Falls plummet down from 1,000 feet, the Rio On Pools flows gently over gigantic boulders forming refreshing natural pools, the Rio Frio Cave welcomes you with an eerie feeling as you enter its 65-foot-high mouth, the river trickling through the center below, huge stalactites hanging overhead? This is Mountain Pine Ridge National Park, one of the most beautiful areas in all Central America. At the end of the tour you will be dropped off at Windy Hill Cottages in San Ignacio. | Days at leisure to
enjoy the several attractions of this beautiful land: Cathedral-like
forests, shimmering emerald rivers, caves, mountains, cascading falls,
intriguing Mennonite communities, and mighty ruins. Suggested
activities: Go horseback riding, canoeing the Macal River, or hiking in
the jungle. Visit the nearby Mayan ruins of El Pilar, cross the border
and marvel at the imposing ruins of Tikal in Guatemala. Services included today: Overnight accommodations at Windy Hill Cottages; hotel taxes. |

DAY 7 CAYO - XUNANTUNICH - BELIZE ZOO - BELIZE CITY |

Xunantunich or "The
Maiden of the Rock" is located on a natural limestone ridge
providing breathtaking views of the Cayo District. It consists of six
major plazas, surrounded by more than 25 temples and palaces. It was a
major ceremonial center and for years it boasted the tallest man-made
structure in all Belize: El Castillo. After lunch we will return to
Belize City via the Belize Zoo. The Belize Zoo is a refuge and
rehabilitation center for injured wildlife, as well as a home for abused
and abandoned pets. All wildlife, which can be rehabilitated, is
